Susan Deutsch, LMSW
Clinical Social Worker
Susan earned her Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1985 and brings 40 years of clinical experience to her practice. She works with adults of all ages, helping them navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful and positive change. With an eclectic approach, she draws from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and supportive psychotherapies to tailor treatment to each individual. Over the past five years she has been immersed in training in IFS (internal family systems) model of psychotherapy, enhancing her “bag of tools” to facilitate the deepest healing for individuals with trauma histories.
Contemplating change is the first and sometimes most difficult step. Susan collaborates with her patients to understand how their history has shaped them, and how to change the patterns underlying current challenges. Together they bring healing from the pain and burdens carried from those difficult experiences. She helps them follow their own internal wisdom to make the changes they seek. Susan also helps them in finding a healthy balance between acceptance and change will lead to more peace, satisfaction and happiness in daily life.
